The major payment services which are used in China are not Apple Pay or PayPal.

China is one of the biggest market also when it comes to digital payment services. The Statista chart shows that 60% of all respondents use digital financial services on a daily bases. However, those payment provider are not the ones known or used in Europe or the United States. 87% of 2,003 Chinese respondents answered that they have used Alipay as a digital payment service, and only 8% have used PayPal for instance. The chart also reveals that 87% of Chinese customer use digital financial services in local stores. This survey shows clearly that, if a corporation is entering the Chinese or another foreign market it's important to know the payment habits of local customers, otherwise the company would risk to leave out many potential customers.
